Our Story“As I grew into an adult I found myself missing that sense of community. Where those who don’t belong, those who know grief, those who seek lasting joy, those who believe in true equity & justice. A space for “us”. A space for the odd, the curious. I believe that we are all obscure in our depths. And I believe that every single one of us deserves to taste magic. To feel held by the ancestors and to know our individuality power. “

Noctavia obscure was born from a longing.
I grew up in the north side of Denver. The neighborhood held me in my grief for the first time when my sister, Anita passed suddenly. This was my first taste of community. Then again some years later when my father passed.
As I grew into an adult I found myself missing that sense of community.
This longing aligned with this knowing birthed Noctavia Obscure.

Noctavia Obscure represents the connection to our ancestors - of blood, lineage, and the land - and through discussions with those that have gone before us, we can help support and strengthen our communities today through collected and shared wisdom.
Through learning at my grandmother's kitchen table, to exploring and initiating in traditions rooted in ancestral veneration and work, I strive to help create the balance between the worlds of the living and the dead, provide peace and comfort to those grieving, and to help mediate through messages to aid in the peace and transition of our community members.

Over time, I have noticed a quiet pattern in my life—an instinct to tend, to bridge, to hold space for others in moments both ordinary and uncertain. That instinct carried me into biomedical science and allopathic medicine, and into herbalism and folk traditions. I came to understand that these ways of knowing are not separate paths, rather different disciplines in conversation with one another.
What has remained is my belief that community itself is a form of care. It asks us to arrive for one another with steadiness, and to trust enough to let others show up for you. It lives in plants and the enduring memory they carry across generations. It lives in ritual, in ancestral practice, and in the shared process of learning together. In recognizing that the magical is not separate from us, nor from science, or nature, but something we are in relationship with every day.
Noctavia Obscure is a space to cultivate beauty, curiosity, and mutual support. A place where community is not an abstract idea, but a daily practice.
